We recently read the book Homer Price in our home school. Well, actually, we read chapter 3 which is entitled "The Doughnuts". It is a funny story of how a doughnut machine goes crazy and makes tons of doughnuts. So, we read the chapter and the next morning we decided to make our own doughnuts! Yum, yum! :0) We plan on reading the other chapters, too.

Some of our yummy doughnutsIn case you are wondering how to make your own delicious, mouth-watering doughnuts, here is what we did. Now, you can make them from scratch, but we cheated a little bit. We bought regular canned biscuits and poked a hole in the middle of them, then dropped them in hot oil. We did make our own icing out of powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla on the stove top. Then we dipped the doughnuts in the icing and let them cool a minute before we devoured them! They were so delicious that Chris thought that we went to Krispy Kreme and bought them! :0)

Those doughnuts look delicious! I can't see what Mordecai saw... what is it?
What a fun way to make doughnuts!! Is the smiley face in the pan of doughnuts what Mordecai noticed, or was that intentional?
Oh, and I just wanted to say that I'm glad its not only my boys who spend part of the day shirtless ;-)
